Hidden Layers

CHF 900.00

This work explores the tension between hiding and revealing, expressed through the raw texture of modeling paste and the imperfect outlines of the body. The roughness speaks to a time when self-love was hesitant, clouded by insecurity, yet full of potential.

Gold sprinkles scattered in the background symbolize light and value, reminding us of the beauty that exists even in moments of doubt. Positioned at the start of the exhibition, this piece marks the beginning of a journey—one of uncertainty and quiet strength, where self-discovery begins to take root.

The long description is handwritten by the artist on plexiglass, adding a personal touch to the narrative.

Description

This piece is about the tension between hiding and revealing. The rough modeling paste, full of its own moods and imperfections, reflects a time when I wasn’t ready to fully show myself or embrace who I am. Its raw texture mirrors the emotions and complexities that lie beneath the surface—unfinished yet bold in its expression.

The body, outlined yet covered, represents a moment in my journey when love for myself was hesitant, shadowed by doubt. The gold sprinkles scattered in the background remind me that even in moments of insecurity, there is light and potential. Gold—a symbol of warmth and value—represents the hidden treasures within, even when we aren’t ready to fully embrace them.

Positioned at the start of my exhibition, this piece reflects the early stages of my self-discovery: the uncertainty, the hesitation, and the quiet power waiting to emerge.
