Description

In this piece, I took a daring leap into transformation, burning my body into wood—a bold mark of existence. The uneven patterns of char reflect both the imperfection and strength of my journey. With a flamethrower, I ignited the edges, creating a raw and organic frame that echoes the fierceness of my spirit.

Captured in profile, I kneel with my head held high, one hand delicately covering my breast, a gesture of both vulnerability and defiance. This pose embodies resilience; it speaks to the duality of exposing oneself while holding onto the essence of what it means to be truly alive.

Though I grapple with my feelings about the unevenness of the burn, I find beauty in the rawness—each flaw a reminder of the fire that shaped me. This work invites viewers to contemplate their own imprints, the scars and stories that define them, and the power of embracing both strength and vulnerability.
